Rage of the Random Actor Live Addendum
Chapter 3
The Random Actor Profile
DK (02-15-2008): Suburbanite kills 5 in city hall in St.
Louis suburb (02-07-2008)
A middle-aged suburbanite opened fire on city hall
in Kirkwood, Mo and killed 5. Described as a guy with a nice "smile," this
incident may have made Psych Ward Effect (Chapter 8) operative and triggered to
mass school slayings a week later at Louisiana Tech and N. Illinois University
where a combined 9 people were killed and over a dozen wounded. As noted in Rage, a number of school random actor threats and attacks followed on the
heels of the 2002 "DC Sniper" slayings. Article
DK (07-30-2006): Teenager, Sulejman
Talovic, slays 6 at upscale Salt Lake Mall (02-12-07) On-scene observations were that he seemed calm, as people focused on his
Communication actions. Article Also, while
more Random Actor killers come from troubled homes, can't stereotype that all
do, as Talovic family was well-liked. Article Below is Talovic when he entered US as refugee from Bosnia, a later as a teen. From wire reports: It has emerged that the 18-year-old gunman who shot
five people dead in a Salt Lake City shopping mall was a survivor of the siege
of Srebrenica. During the Bosnian war, Sulejman Talovic's family sought refuge
in the UN-protected enclave. They spent two years in the town before it was
overrun by Bosnian Serbs in 1995 who went on to kill some 8,000 Muslim men and
boys. Sulejman and his mother were evacuated by the UN and later reunited with
his father, according to his cousin, Redzo Talovic. He remembers him being a
"little bit playful as a child, but no-one could have imagined he would ever do
such a thing," he says. The teenager, dressed in a trench coat and carrying a
shotgun, a .38 calibre pistol and what police said was a "backpack full of
ammunition," opened fire at random. He was stopped by an off-duty officer before
being killed by police who arrived in force.

DK (07-30-2006): Phoenix serial killer
suspect
call slayings "Random Recreational Violence" & fit Random Actor pattern - Both had Random
Actor profile, lived in a suburb, randomly killed in
upscale statistically safe communities, both from broken homes, no
rational motive . . . but neighbors described them as
pleasant because they only read their communication traits Two suspected serial killers who worked as a pair and killed 6 and wounded
18 in Phoenix suburbs, were apprehended. They called their attacks "Random
Recreational Violence" (RRV). The attached articles show that they had the Random
Actor traits, were from a suburb (one of the most likely locales where a Random
Actor attacker will reside as detailed in the book), were from broken homes, and
lacked any rational motive (common in most Random Actor attacks). As noted in
Chapter 3, it is critical that COMMUNICATION traits are read separately from PERFORMANCE traits, otherwise you won't suspect there is potential trouble.
In Chapter 6, the story is told of a Tucson reporter who has a chance meeting
with the University of Arizona School of Nursing killer, Robert Flores. In
Phoenix, another reporter recalls her meeting with one of the other killers. She
says remembers that something was off but didn't know how to piece togehter the
clues. Her article is provided below. Article - 1st Suspect, Dale Hausner (33) Article - 2nd Suspect, Samuel Dieteman (30) Article - Local

DK (07-30-2006): The Seattle Jewish Center
Muslim shooter is a Random Actor, like the rave shooter earlier this year. Naveed Haq, 30, was a Random Actor for
years and known to have problems, including sexual dysfunctions, similar to
other Random Actors, that led to an earlier arrest. Common to most cases, people
assumed because at times he had pleasing communication traits that he wouldn't
kill. His parents offered an apology for his actions and asked that they be
viewed as the actions of an ill person, and not hatred of Muslims directed at
Jews.

DK (04-11-06): The "Why" question is the most
frequently asked question, like the Seattle Rave slaying case in Seattle
(below). One professional in the Orlando area, who has read Rage of the
Random Actor twice and put it to work in her personal and professional like,
gives her take on this (sent in Jan 06)
Just watching the news. Wow, I feel like it
is following what you lay out in your book. That 15 year old that was shot and
killed by the police officer...more news on the school. There was a bomb scare
on the campus today. They caught the GIRL who called it in. They are planning
on expelling her. This is a middle school.
A lot of
random actor stuff happening in the news locally. A LOT. Bank robbery with
hostages, a serial killer in the making shoots and kills to 25 year olds
camping (he was just waiting for someone to come along to kill), beating and
killing homeless men by teenagers, and a 15 year old (8th grader) shot by a cop
in the school bathroom. He had been brandishing a handgun on campus that turned
out to be a pellet gun. He really wanted to die and looks like he set that up.
Parents are freaked and the school is saying that the Campus is very safe.
Parents are very freaked! The news didn't report this much but I heard once
that this kid threatened to bomb the school at one time and was thus suspended
for a year. Wow your book sheds light on this stuff and it explains the string
of events happening from back to back in the area. Wow, we are having a lot of
stuff going on locally
The knowledge from your book is actually calming.
Weird, huh? It is still scary but I feel more equipped after reading your
book. I look forward to applying what I've learned.
DK (03-29-06): Seattle mass shooting at
rave party committed by Random Actor - Familiar patter - from small town, no motive, educated, people
speak of pleasing communication actions
On March 25, 6-foot-5 and 270 plus pounds Kyle Huff (27) walked into a rave
party and killed six and wounded two teens and young adults and wounded two at a rave party;
then committed suicide. The victims included Melissa Moore, 14, a ninth grader from Milton, and
Suzanne Thorne, 15, a 10th grader from Bellevue. Like most media reports, the focus was on his pleasing
communication actions, he was from an affluent small town setting, and there was
no apparent motive. The sustained media coverage focuses on the lack of motive,
which is common in many Random Actor cases. These articles detail the case and the common observations in these
cases. What is unique about this case is that Huff, a Random Actor, took action
against a counter-culture group, which is unusual. But, it is similar to cases I
observed in Europe in the early 1990s where a Random Actor in an anarchist gang
would take action against another counter-culture group like a skinhead gang.
Also, one local paper which interviewed me extensively, but chose not to include
any of the content from my interview, continued to propagate the myth that
Random Actor attackers are usually "loners" and "loser."

around at the time. Now that I think about it, it seemed kind of creepy."

Killers "They were really sweet guys, and
very shy," said Cassidy, who attended middle and high school with the Huff
brothers. "They had zero — zero — problems in school. People gave them trouble
about wearing trench coats and boots and long hair, but they didn't care."
Seattle families of victims want to know "why" - Article The tragedy is that
unless one understands the Random Actor profile, how stressors build and "load
the gun," and how the "trigger" can be anything, it's virtually impossible to
make sense of this type of crime. In fact, Kyle, who was a community college
student, could have committed the crime at his campus if a student or staff
person ticked him off there.

DK (02-9-06): As reported in the New York Times, Hollywood
has recently released a number of new movies about seemingly "normal" people who
commit mass acts of violence. As quoted from the article: "He was such a
nice, quiet man; I never would have expected it," some befuddled person says
about a neighbor who seemed perfectly normal until he grabbed an Uzi and went on
a killing spree. The variations are endless and seem ludicrous to those watching
at home. Weren't there any signs of the nice neighbor's lethal instincts?"
These are the same themes that come up in every news story
without any context or hope of how to prevent these incidents. NYT

DK (01-24-06): As reported in the New
York Times, a coalition of organizations unveiled at the 2006 American
Psychoanalytical Association convention a new manual that suggests that
practitioners first identify a patient's personality profile and then look at
the catalog of symptoms in the DSM IV. "The most striking proposal in the new
manual is its insistence that personality be evaluated first, and symptoms
considered secondary." Related to profiling, there are many obvious benefits
because people with different profiles can present diagnostic behaviors
differently. For Random Actors, Salesman-Random Actors, for example, might
demonstrate depression very differently from Account-Random Actors. NYT Article
